GABA, known more formally as gamma-aminobutyric acid and can be easily found in the body, is a useful amino acid that promotes wellness and health. When the brain shoots of messages one after the other, the result is the body feels overstimulated and has a hard time relaxing.

GABA is what is called an inhibitory neurotransmitter, meaning it helps control or inhibit the number of electronic messages send by the brain. It nips insomnia in the bud by controlling the amount of messages the brain can send to other parts of the body. Thus, the brain is more relaxed and yet alert and one is able to sleep easier, without having to toss and turn throughout the night.
