What to do about the symptoms of stress
Symptoms of stress can vary greatly from patient to patient.
Symptoms of stress can broadly be categorized into three classes: In most cases, stressed people experience a combination of symptoms from these three categories: psychological, physical and/or emotional.
Symptoms of Stress can include heart pounding, headaches, sweaty palms, indigestion, skin breaks out, shortness of breath, holding breath, cold hands, and sleeplessness to name just a few.
Stress is everywhere. Frequently, it appears disguised as other things so we don't believe we are stressed out.
When you suffer symptoms of stress, it is a sign that it has been at work for a long time. Intense stress from a trauma can take years to manifest.
Psychological impacts like depression, apathy and unstoppable anxiety are very common symptoms of stress.
Your heart and circulatory system were not designed to fight stress for prolonged periods. Their way of dealing with it are sometimes sudden death or the terrible side effects of heart attacks.
A common source of stress is feeling trapped for economic reasons by a job that isn't satisfying or feels unstable. If you're faced with many demands at once, the natural result for many people is increased frustration and irritability.
Feelings of being left alone or in danger, financial troubles and failures in achieving a goal in life are among the other significant aspects playing a key role in initiating stress.
If you are feeling constantly moody or tired or are carrying tension in your neck and shoulders, you have illnesses usually caused by stress.
Things you can do to relieve stress: Treat colleagues with the same respect and consideration you'd like from them. Be aware of company policies on harassment, bullying or racism, so you know how to challenge unacceptable behaviour and what back-up there is.
Stay away from alcohol, caffeine, drugs and sugar as they all leave behind adverse effects on you.
If you are a perfectionist, cut yourself and those around you some slack. Your life will love you for it. Some people have a real problem with this because if something isn't perfect, it is cause for stress.
