Anxiety and Depression - How to Deal and Cope

Anxiety is a conditions that must be properly addressed. People who suffer from this condition tend to be suicidal. While there is a wide list of options for treatment, a common important element towards treatment is self-will.

If you have a strong feeling of sadness over a period of time, and you feel sad, highly irritable and have lost any interest in your day to day activites you are feeling depressed. It may happen you will lose or gain weight and will have irregular sleeping patterns.

There are many symptoms of anxiety- loss of control, emotional distress, being worrysome, emotional imbalance, nervousness, etc. The triggers are those that causes the attacts. The presence of certain levels of chemicals like dopamine and serotinin in our brains is one cause. Another is the hereditary factor - it is usually an illness that runs in the family.

Go see a professional if you think you have either illness. He will find you ways to get you start feeling better again. You can also tap into a support group which can help you undergo a healing or treatment process. These groups usually share individual experiences which you can apply for coping with your own situation.

Another method to deal with anxiety and depression is one-on-one counseling. A good counselor can help you assess your feelings and make you understand them better. A further option is medication. There are drugs that can help you deal with your problems.

A physician will usually prescribe medication to reduce the physical manifestation of the attack. Common medicines are anti-anxiety medicines, anti-depressant drugs, etc. In many instances, a combination of therapy and drugs are pursued.
