Do You Have Panic Disorder?

Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder and is characterized by unexpected and repeated episodes of intense fear accompanied by physical symptoms that may include chest pain, heart palpitations, and shortness of breath, dizziness, or abdominal distress.

Panic disorder sometimes runs in families, but no one knows for sure why some people have it, while others don't. When chemicals in the brain are not at a certain level it can cause a person to have panic disorder.

Many people with panic disorder develop intense anxiety between episodes, worrying when and where the next one will strike. Fortunately, effective treatments have been developed to help people with panic disorder.

Panic disorder is a very unpredictable condition it leaves affected people feeling constantly anxious and concerned about when their next attack will be.

Panic disorder is a type of anxiety disorder in which the key symptom is the experience of unexpected panic attacks. These panic attacks consist of physical and/or cognitive symptoms such as racing heart, dizziness, and blurred vision, fear of death, trembling, sweating, and shortness of breath.

Panic disorder is a condition in which a person regularly experiences panic attacks, which are commonly experienced as sudden, brief episodes of fear and anxiety which cause symptoms such as a racing heartbeat, heavy perspiration and shortness of breath.

In most cases, people with panic disorder experience panic attacks that occur seemingly at random, but may be associated with particular situations, such as crowded rooms or high places.

Panic disorder is different from a one-time or isolated attack because it's characterized by panic attacks that are repeated and unexpected. The panic attacks occur when the person is not in any real threat or danger. People who suffer from repeated panic attacks soon learn that they can't predict the next attack and they start to worry about when and where the next one will happen.
