The Science Behind the Causes of Panic Attacks

A lot of money is made by doctors and drug companies off of people who unfairly have to suffer with panic and anxiety attacks. Because of this there is new research all the time and one of the main reasons why panic attacks continually pop up in your life is due to unhealthy levels of stress.

Other factors like mental genetics and chemical imbalances are there as well but many times unhealthy stress can activate these as well. That said panic and anxiety are something you can control 100%.

Panic attacks most of the time are triggered from the brain and then spiral out of control from there.

You might be wondering at that point what is going on in the brain. Oxygen that is carried to the brain is responsible for the stability of the levels of different chemicals. That's why exercise is one of the best ways to fight anxiety… it increases the amount of oxygen delivered to your brain.

It's all really an unfair circle of bad events. Bad stress is tossed on your from all directions during your day and that can lead to a big build up. Once that happens it will cause some anxiety to build and that will cause panic to build and then things just get worse.

That's why medication is not a proper way to go about fighting anxiety… once you stop taking it you will continue to suffer.

For a solid long term solution there are two ways that really come to mind as being good… personal self help, and going to a doctor for therapy. Personally I recommend that you use personal self help… less expensive and a lot more of a long term strategy.

If you are going to hire a doctor to help you then there are some things to consider. One you will have to bend to not only their personal schedule, but their length of time to talk with you. Things could actually get worse because of that and there is not a lot that you can do about it.

However on the other hand… using self help methods can work for you for pretty much your entire life. During the process you will understand your problem and discover things about you that give you greater control. And on top of that the confidence you will build will give you a very tight grip on your anxiety.
